Eastern District Convention

Many of us from First Trinity have spent the last two days at the Eastern District Convention.  It was a pretty good convention as far as those things go.  There were no controversial issues and the convention ran very smoothly.

Here are some results:

District President:  Rev. Dr. Chris Wicher.  He is the pastor at St. Luke in Cheektowaga. He is a great guy and I am excited he is our new District President.

Buffalo Region Vice president:  Rev. Karl Haeussler.   Again, Pastor Karl is a great guy.

Circuit Counselor:  That would be me.  I am afraid that it may consume more time than I have.  My wife will let me know.

Jim Brese and Paul Fromm both received servant of Christ awards.  Both are very deserving.  There were not monumental decisions made beyond these.  Just took a lot of our time.

I hear Sue is on the nominations committee too!

And I also heard Nate was in the choir… sounds like FT was well-represented.

I’m so glad to hear we’ve got good folk in the pres/vp slots (and, of course, the circuit counselor slot!)… and it’s so nice to recognize Jim and Paul because they both do so much behind-the-scenes stuff. :)

Also, Sandra Rice was there as a person on the planning committee. AND Jason ran all the technology flawlessly! In addition, Pastor’s Young, Streufert and Klingebiel were there. Yep, Bruce Sutherland was too as a District gift planner, too

Will Pastor’s Wicher’s position as president cause him to leave St. Luke? What is Pastor Brunner going to do now? Congratulations on your position as circuit counselor. I know you will be a great support to the other churches in our circuit.

Also, Eunice Foote, and Eric Opferbeck and of course, Tim Hartnett,Gordie Tresch, and Clara Lou Fromm. First Trinity was very well represented. I don’t know if any congregation had as many people. I just hope no one was left off the list. That wasn’t my intent when I started this blog.

Yes, Pastor Wicher will have to leave St. Luke because the presidency is a full time position. Dr. Brunner and Karen will probably move to North Carolina. There is a congregation that is considering him for a call, as well as a mission in Germany. Nothing is definite yet. We will miss him around here.
