Wow, this was a busy week, but a good one. Here are just a few of the special moments:
- Thursday Jon and I were able to take in an Indians game. Go Tribe! There were two rain delays in the fourth inning. Finally, after over 5 hours, the Indians beat the Rays. In fact, it was their first sweep of the season. Despite the weather, we had a good time.
- We left from there and headed toward Fort Wayne for a Haiti conference. It was a great father and son weekend.
- We visited a Bass Pro shop. That was fun.
- Did some geocaching along the way to break up the trip.
- It was great to meet with other people who are passionate about Haiti. Pastor Touloute and his whole family were there. It was good to see Jean and the boys.
- Good decisions were made and I look forward to see how we can work together. There are high hopes for Haiti.
- Jon and I were given tickets to a car show and auction. It was not quite what we expected. There were some absolutely beautiful cars. We saw one sell for $440,000 and a few for over $200,000. The ranged from Lamborghinis to 1904 racer (which sold for $440,000). Anyway, I made sure Jon kept his hands in his pockets. We had a great time. Now imagine around 800 cars being auctioned that day and it was a four day event. A lot of money went through that place. I guess the economy isn’t affecting us all the same. I think I broke the 10th Commandment. I had to pray about that.
- We decided to head out very early and go to church in Ohio at the first congregation I served. Turned out to be confirmation Sunday. They confirmed three girls, all of whom I baptized. What a surprise. It was fun to see them and their families.
- A friend invited us to lunch afterward and to a Corvette car show. He happens to have one. I began to detect a theme. Maybe God is trying to tell me to get a “man” car. I figure it is useless to fight Him in this.
